About the film
Submission to Chroma Awards ------------------------------------------------- An AI film concept based on the Slavic folk tale "Vasilisa and Baba Yaga." Under orders from her stepmother, the young girl Vasilisa sets out into the dark forest to find a magical fire. She has to visit Baba Yaga, the guardian of the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead. Once there, Vasilisa must undergo trials that will either allow her to mature or lead to her death. -------------------------------------------------- The idea is to present the project not in the usual Slavic popular and fairytale aesthetics, but to try to make a darker project with details of archaic pre-Christian Rus', the time from which this fairy tale came. This is a long-standing project of mine, touching on the themes of initiation, growing up and understanding mortality, connected with the cultural code. -------------------------------------------------- Tools Used for production: *Nano Banana, Reve, Seedream 4.
