About the film

In 2025, an international jury awarded first prize to Chrysalis — a real generation-ship design: 58 km long, 2,400 souls, 400 years to Proxima Centauri b. The hardest problem in any such voyage isn't propulsion. It's that the generations born mid-voyage never chose it. We made a film about them. THE WINTERING — a science-fiction drama (3 min 25 s) made entirely with AI in Higgsfield Cinema Studio for the Higgsfield Global Film Festival. A dying botanist. A forbidden star chart knitted into a scarf. A butterfly that remembers what everyone chose to forget. No single monarch survives the migration. The journey is finished by the great-grandchildren of the ones who began it. Original score generated via Lyria 3. All voices AI-generated. English voice-over and subtitles.
