The Lone Ranger is the beginning of a larger post-apocalyptic story about an unlikely connection between two very different beings — and about the idea that compassion can survive even when the world around it has fallen apart. That idea felt especially important to me. In a broken world, not unlike the uncertainty we often experience in our own time, kindness, empathy and helping someone without expecting anything in return can still create something meaningful. Sometimes an act of mercy may even find its way back to you when you least expect it. I created The Lone Ranger using artificial intelligence, but every part of the film began with a deliberate creative decision.
